Nancy was nominated by her co-workers who wrote; she is a hard-working, loving wife and mother who not only works a full time job in the day but a part-time job in the evening.
She coaches her children's soccer teams and is a fundraising extraordinaire. Nancy is not your average mother, she's involved, she encouraging, she's the type of mother we all strive to be; selfless, loving and strong.
On December 19th Nancy celebrated her 40th Birthday. With this new chapter in her life comes many insecurities, and we wanted to help her show the world how beautiful she is on the inside and on the outside.
Nancy was whisked away in a limousine provided by Bee Limousine; she arrived at Mitchell's Salon & Day Spa in Kenwood to get her day started off right with a full body therapeutic massage by Jurate Rubikiene. A massage enhances the function of joints and muscles, improves circulation and stimulates the skin to produce a deep sense of clam and well being.
Next Liz Diaz gave Nancy our Euphoria Facial with the Dermasound Treatment. The Dermasound Machine maximizes the active ingredients and helps with hydration and age management to give her skin a beautiful healthy glow.
After lunch, Nancy was on her way to the nail department to get a manicure by Allison Mack and a whirlpool pedicure by Jamie Spencer. We filed the nails and trimmed the cuticles to perfection. Nancy chose a shimmery burgundy nail polish by Essie called "Scarlet O'Hara" to top it all off.
Haircut, Color and Style by Jennie Holt. Nancy and I consulted about her past hair history and what her limitations would be for her makeover. Nancy was very excited and felt like this opportunity only happens once so she was game for anything. Nancy is a natural brunette and she had been coloring her hair at home herself for quite some time. Her existing color was a medium auburn with very light ends and a few inches of regrowth, she was definitely ready to have her color overhauled. The auburn color was flattering to her skin but I really wanted to brighten her up. We started with her base color and evened out the many different tones in her hair and brought everything to a medium light ginger. We then applied strawberry blonde highlights around her face to brighten her appearance and compliment the new layers in mind for her. After her color was perfected we applied a Bumble & Bumble Damage Therapy Masque to hydrate her hair. The finishing touch was a light copper gloss adding shine and dimension. Moving on to the cut I really wanted to give Nancy a more modern, sexy hair style that would compliment her vivacious personality. I cut about 4 inches off her length and using a razoring technique and gave her soft layers to accentuate her beautiful bone structure. Finally we gave her a gently side swept bang which made the new style look more current. The cut was perfect to put just a bit of product in and go or blow dry for bouncy volume. The end result was a modern bob designed specifically for her. I blew out her hair using a round brush technique to add volume, shine and smooth out her natural wave. I used Bumble & Bumbles Straight to relax her waves and Thickening Spray to add structure to the new shape. The finishing touch was Bumble & Bumbles Spray De Mode for a soft hold.
Shawna Nenadov finished Nancy's look by applying Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup. After her facial Nancy's skin was glowing, so I focused on her strong features and high cheek bones. I enhanced her blue eyes with coppers and golds, it really made her eyes pop.
Ivy Pitzer from "Plum Diore" outfitted Nancy in a beautiful Asian inspired dress by Betsy Johnson. What a great way to finish the entire look. Nancy enjoyed her evening with a wonderful dinner with her Husband Jim and their three kids. |
